A Massachusetts man is accused of violently beating a mother and her daughter in addition to a motorist after becoming angry over a failed transaction.

According to Auburn Police on Sunday, July 31st at 7:00 a.m., Auburn Police Officers responded to a gas station on Route 12 after a witness reported that a man was beating the store clerks. While responding, the witness reported that the suspect left the area in a vehicle.

Investigation revealed that 30-year-old Kyle Fitta of North Dighton was unable to complete a transaction with his credit card. Without saying anything, Fitta began punching the 19-year female clerk in the face. This clerk’s mother was the manager of the store and she tried to intervene at which time Fitta began violently attacking her as well.

Both women were punched, kicked, and thrown against the store displays and floor. The daughter suffered a broken nose, a black eye, and a cut above her left eye that required stitches. The mother sustained a black eye, cuts and bruises and a back injury.

Another customer observed the incident and decided to enter the store to scare off the suspect. The witness, an Auburn man, entered the store and screamed for Fitta to stop and leave, which ended the attack.

Fitta then stole the mother’s cell phone and keys before leaving.

The suspect fled to the Mass Pike where he caused a crash, proceeded to violently assault another motorist, and resist arrest by Troopers from the MA State Police.

The stolen keys and cell phone were recovered from Fitta’s vehicle at the time of his arrest.

Fitta was charged by Auburn Police with Unarmed robbery, Assault and battery resulting in serious bodily injury, 3 counts of Assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and 2 counts of malicious destruction of property.
