Little Compton, Tiverton, Westport, Portsmouth, Bristol, Middletown, Warren, Rehoboth fight fire that kills dog

A family pet died earlier this week after a blaze at a local residence.

According to the Little Compton Fire Department, on Wednesday, The LCFD was dispatched to 99 Pottersville Road shortly after 6:30 p.m. for a possible structure fire where smoke was reported to be coming from the eaves.

Upon arrival, crews confirmed a working structure fire and relayed to dispatch to activate the East Bay Tanker Task Force.

The fire was quickly brought under control, however, extensive overhaul was required to chase hotspots throughout the structure.

Mutual aid was provided by Tiverton, Westport, Portsmouth, Bristol, Middletown, Warren, and Rehoboth. The State Fire Marshal responded to investigate the cause of the fire.

Nobody was injured, but according to East Bay RI, a dog perished in the blaze.
