Little Compton man arrested for molesting girlfriend’s daughter
According to Detective Sergeant Trevor Richmond, on Monday, October 15, a resident of South Kingstown reported to the South Kingstown Police Department (SKPD) that she believed her twelve year old child had been molested by a man who she had been dating for over four years.
On October 17, the suspect, Myles Stevenson, 39, of no permanent address, Little Compton, RI was located and detained by the SKPD Patrol Division. Stevenson was interviewed by Detective Joshua Eidam of the SKPD Detective Division. During the course of the interview, Stevenson confessed to committing multiple accounts of first degree child molestation, beginning in 2014, when the child was eight years old.
Stevenson was arrested and charged with one count of First Degree Child Molestation in violation of R.I.G.L. 11-37-8.1. The SKPD anticipates additional criminal charges being filed against Stevenson as the result of statements and physical evidence obtained by the SKPD Detective Division.
Stevenson is being held without bail at the Adult Correctional Institutes.
