Lego, printing, e-sports, & string instrument classes beginning to keep Fall River area kids busy

According to Principal William Aguiar, these classes will take place at Somerset Berkley Regional High School and welcome all area kids, not just Somerset.

The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Lego Construction, taught by Mr. Jay Duddy of Berkley Middle School, the weeks of July 6-9, July 12-16, and August 2-6. This class is intended for students who have some experience building with Lego bricks and who enjoy the challenge to make what they see on the box or use their imagination and create something new. Builders will take on the challenges of building unique vehicles, experimental structures, and awesome Lego models all while building valuable skills such as teamwork, problem-solving skills, and dexterity. The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Patterns and Printing August 2-6 with Ms. Kyla Schmigle from Somerset Berkley Regional High School. This class will be offered from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. In this class students will get the chance to experiment with several types of printing while discovering repeat patterns. Students will get the opportunity to stamp a usable bag and work with everyday items to make unique prints on greeting cards. The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering E-Sports June 28- July 2, July 12-16, and July 26-30 with Mr. Jay Duddy from Berkley Middle School. This class runs from 9:00am-11:00am. This class will teach students about the history of gaming, the benefits of teamwork, the effectiveness of strategy in games, and overall have a great time doing it! The 2021 Kids Summer Learning Center is offering Summer Strings June 28-July 2 from 9:00am-11:00am. This class is geared towards students with one to three years of play experience of a string instrument. Students will be expanding their knowledge while learning new techniques and exploring musical genres. At the end of the week students will showcase their skills.
