Johnston Police looking for MA suspect in late night shooting considered armed and dangerous

Police are investigating an overnight shooting in Johnston.

According to Deputy Chief of Police Joseph Razz, at approximately midnight, police responded to 995 Atwood Avenue in reference to a reported shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they discovered a victim who had a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim, identified Mark Ashe, 25, with a last known address of 57 Weld Hill Street, Boston, MA as the individual responsible.

Ashe is described as white male, 5’5″, weighing approximately 130 lbs., with an indistinguishable tattoo on his neck.

Ashe was last observed to be a passenger in a silver four door Subaru Cross-Over SUV, with an unknown MA registration. Ashe has an extensive criminal history and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Ashe is a person of interest and those who may know his whereabouts are encouraged to contact Detectives at the Johnston Police (401-231-8100).

The victim was transported to RI Hospital and his condition is stable, according to police.
