Investigation by Fall River Police determines cause of crash into Subway
Fall River Police have concluded their investigation concerning a crash into a Fall River restaurant.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at 12:51 p.m., Ofc. Chris Rodrigues responded to the Subway Sandwich Shop at 356 Mariano Bishop Blvd., due to a motor vehicle which struck the building.
It was determined that a Hyundai Accent being operated by a 74-year-old female operator struck the building when the driver accidentally stepped on the accelerator pedal instead of the brake pedal.
Fall River Building Inspector Borges evaluated the damage to the building and determined that the structure was sound, but needed to be boarded up until repairs can take place.
The operator of the Hyundai was brought to the hospital to be checked by medical personnel.
There was a female passenger in the car who was uninjured and there were no injuries reported from inside the business.
