Horseneck Beach waters opened, DCR recommends restrictions
Massachusetts DCR has lowered the warning at Horseneck Beach from two red flags to one.
Today, Wednesday, July 25, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) has removed a double red flag warning and has posted a single red flag warning at Horseneck Beach State Reservation due to surf and rip current conditions.
A red flag warning indicates that surf is high and that there are potentially strong rip currents.
Visitors are asked to use caution when entering the water, only go approximately waist deep, and swim in areas where lifeguards are stationed. Additionally, agency staff will continue to monitor conditions of state managed beaches along the Massachusetts coastline.
