Homeless veteran dies from injuries sustained in Providence hit-and-run crash
A local homeless veteran has died from injuries sustained in a pedestrian crash, family members say.
According to his brother Michael, 57-year-old Eddie English passed away Tuesday evening at 7:45 p.m.
Michael stated that his brother was hit on the corner of Rochambeau Avenue and North Main Street in Providence on New Year’s Eve night at 7:20 p.m.
English was transported to Rhode Island Hospital before succumbing to his injuries.
Providence Police are still looking for a suspect.
The car in question is possibly a dark colored SUV, possibly a Jeep Commander, with a Georgia dealer plate and likely front-end damage.
