Holy Ghost Feast kicks off in Fall River
The Great Feast of the Holy Ghost is taking place at Kennedy Park in Fall River from August 22nd to Sunday, August 26th. You are in store for some great food and entertainment along with reverence toward the Holy Ghost.
The schedule of the feast is as follows:
AUGUST 22
6 p.m. — Recitation of the rosary at Kennedy Park followed by the distribution of the traditional Holy Ghost soup.
AUGUST 23
7 p.m. — Opening with special illumination ceremony.
Entertainment:
7 p.m. — Nadia
8 p.m. — Studio
9:45 p.m. — Portuguese Kids
11 p.m. — Closing
AUGUST 24
7 p.m. — Entrance of the Insignias of the Holy Ghost, blessing/distribution of the pensões in the presence of D. António Vitalino Dantas, Bishop Emeritus of Beja, Fall River Bishop Edgar Moreira Da Cunha. Performance by Banda Conceição Mosteirense.
7:30 p.m. — Grand opening of the Azorean handicrafts expo and opening of the photo exhibit “Ponta Delgada in Fall River: 40 Years as Sister Cities.“
7:30 p.m. — The Folia from the Our Lady of Rosary Church of East Providence.
8 p.m. — Grupo de Cantares Vozes do Mar do Norte, from Rabo de Peixe, S. Miguel, Azores.
8:30 p.m. — Dispensa de Rabo de Peixe.
9 p.m. — Legacy Band.
10 p.m. — Great Escape.
11:30 p.m. — Closing
AUGUST 25
9:30 p.m. — Ethnographic Parade and “Bodo de Leite” departing from Ponta Delgada Boulevard to Kennedy Park including Columbia and South Main Streets towards Kennedy Park. Sweet bread and milk will be distributed after.
2 p.m. to 4 p.m. — Folklore Festival
2 p.m. — Rancho Folclórico Casa do Ribatejo
2:30 p.m. — Grupo Etnográfico “Gente do Minho”
3 p.m. — Rancho Folclórico da Sociedade Cultural Açoriana
3:30 p.m. — Rancho Folclórico “Raízes de Portugal”
4 p.m. — Rancho Folclórico do Clube Português de Cranston
4:30 – 5:30 p.m. — Auction to benefit the Feast
6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. — Concert by Saint Anthony Band and Our Lady of Light Band of Fall River

9:00 p.m. — The Seven Bridges
10:15 p.m. — Iran Costa
11:30 p.m. — Closing
AUGUST 26
Noon — Mass and Coronation at Saint Mary’s Cathedral, co-celebrated by Bishop Emeritus of Beja António Dantas and Bishop Edgar Moreira da Cunha.
2 p.m. — Procession of Coronation starting at St. Mary’s Cathedral.
6 p.m. — Concert by Senhor da Pedra Band and Our Lady of Rosary Band.
7 p.m. — Auction to benefit the Feast.
8 p.m. — Luis Neves Show
9 p.m. — Starlight
10 p.m. — Closing
