Heritage State Park in Fall River to host carnival, musical performances, crab event, and tree day

Several fun family friendly activities are coming up at Heritage State Park in Fall River.

Saturday, September 7
BOARDWALK RAMBLE: FREE MUSIC PERFORMANCES, NOON–2:30 pm, on the Boardwalk.
The Narrows Center for the Arts invites you to enjoy a relaxing stroll along the Fall River Heritage State Park boardwalk while soaking up the sunshine and catching some tunes. Musicians will be found at three locations along the boardwalk. Free.

Saturdays, September 7, 14, 21 & 28
CRABBING THE QUEQUECHAN, 1:30 pm, on the Footbridge.
Join them each Saturday in September as they go hunting for blue crabs. Supplies will be provided that are needed for this catch-and-release hunt. If you get lucky, you’ll see some crabs, if not, you’ll still learn a little about the animals that call the Quequechan River home. Meet on the Kaplan Footbridge in front of the Fall River Heritage State Park Visitor Center. Suitable for all ages. Rain will cancel this program. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday, September 14
FAMILY FUN TREE DAY, 9:00 am – Noon, in the picnic area.
Celebrate the benefits of trees with the Fall River Tree Planting Program. This event combines fun with nature. Take a tree identification walk through the park, help plant a tree and have a morning of fun. It’s all free! Suitable for all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Saturday, September 14
ROCKFEST COMMUNITY CARNIVAL, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm, in the meadow.
A free Community Event presented by Christ The Rock. An afternoon of family fun with: refreshments, face painting, carnival games, free clothes, hygiene products, school supplies, a raffle for Red Sox Tickets and so much more! It’s a day of fun for the whole family and it’s all free! Children must be accompanied by an adult.
