FALL RIVER, MA – Throughout July, Fall River Heritage State Park turns its spotlight on another major contemporary manufacturer: Korber Hats. Korber specializes in all types of high quality straw and felt headwear for both the men’s and ladies trade. After over a century of making fine hats in Fall River, Korber Hats today is touted as the premier brand of choice for headwear throughout the world. In collaboration with Professor Andrea Klimt of UMass Dartmouth, Fall River Heritage State Park is delighted to host a new exhibit focused on Korber, in its series of summer programming highlighting current thriving businesses that call Fall River home.

This month’s display combines Dr. Klimt’s photography of Korber and its workers with new interactive programming created at the Park, hands-on activities and more. Every Wednesday in July is “Fun Hat Day” and park visitors are invited to wear fun and festive hats and promenade on the boardwalk. Visitors can use materials from Korber to make their own hats in a craft station and are encouraged to take “selfies” at the “Fun Hat Station”.

Admission and all programs at Fall River Heritage State Park are free and open to the public. An adult must accompany children. Reasonable accommodations are available upon request. The Visitor Center is located at 200 Davol Street in Fall River and is wheelchair accessible; parking is free and available in the Department of Conservation & Recreation lot at 5 Water Street, adjacent to Battleship Cove. Please call the park with any questions at (508) 675-5759 x500.
