Heavy rain, strong winds, minor coastal flooding headed our way in coastal storm

The National Weather Service is forecasting heavy rain, strong winds, and coastal flooding for the area.

A coastal storm is expected to begin late Sunday night into Monday. Rain, strong coastal winds, and minor coastal flooding along the eastern Massachusetts coast is expected. The rain will begin as a period of light freezing rain across parts of the interior. Slippery travel possible for the Monday morning commute in the high terrain.

Rain likely, mainly after 1am. Cloudy, with a low around 39. Northeast wind 11 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday
Rain. Patchy fog. High near 45. North wind around 16 mph, with gusts as high as 36 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New precipitation amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.
