Head on MA motorcycle versus car crash sends one on medflight, another to the hospital
Police Chief Timothy Hanlon and Fire Chief Timothy Clancy report that the Whitman Police and Fire Departments responded to a serious crash Thursday night involving a motor vehicle and motorcycle.
At approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Whitman Police and Fire responded to a 911 call for a motor vehicle crash in the area of Bedford Street. Upon arrival, first responders found a motor vehicle, a 2017 Subaru BRZ, had collided with a motorcycle, a 2020 Harley-Davidson FLHCS, causing serious damage to both vehicles.
The operator of the motorcycle was transported to the Essex Street landing zone by Whitman Fire-Rescue and taken by medical helicopter to a nearby hospital. The operator of the motor vehicle was transported to a nearby hospital by a mutual aid ambulance from Abington.
The crash remains under investigation by the Whitman Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Reconstruction Team. The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department assisted on scene.
