Good Samaritans chase, catch, and detain Fall River robbery suspect
Bystanders in Fall River on Monday saw something and then did something about it.
According to Captain Barden Castro, at approximately 12:50 p.m. Uniform Division Officers responded to Fall River Mini Mart, 837 Bay Street, for a report of a man who had been robbed.
Officer Lauren Fiola and Officer Tyler Andrade responded to the scene and spoke with a 58-year-old man who had been shopping in the store when the suspect snatched money from his hand and ran out of the business.
The victim attempted to give chase but lost his footing and fell to the ground on Bay Street. Seeing and hearing the commotion, residents as well as motorists driving on Bay Street began to chase the perpetrator through the immediate neighborhood. Good Samaritans were able to detain the suspect, later identified as 27-year-old Joshua Rosado, and turned him over to Officer Eric Pacheco.
Rosado was served with an outstanding warrant for his arrest and will be charged with Unarmed Robbery and Possession of a Class B Drug based on Monday’s arrest.
The victim declined medial treatment from fire department paramedics on the scene.
