Future of Brockton Fair unclear after reasoning behind cancellation for 2022
Could the Brockton Fair be gone for good?
Recently, it was announced via their webpage that the Brockton Fair would be cancelled for the third straight year.
The pandemic led to initial cancellations, but after organizers responded to our request as to why there would be no fair in 2022, the future of the event is murky at best.
“During the pandemic, we received requests to lease out portions of the Fairgrounds. Due to the uncertain future of large gatherings, we made the decision to lease out the property.”
This news doesn’t necessarily mean that the Brockton Fair is gone for good, but the revelation isn’t exactly promising.
Until the recent cancellations, the event has been taking place since 1874 and has a long history of music, games, food, and entertainment in June.
For those looking to get their “Fair” fix, the Marshfield Fair is set to take place in August and the Dartmouth Mall has announced their own fair next week.
What becomes of the Brockton Fair in the years ahead remains to be seen.

So the rumor behind the scenes for the last two years… When the 4H Club/Statehouse burned down and was quickly demolished that was a major staple to allow Carney to dump the Agricultural status and move to sell the property… It is rumored that he has entered negations with Amazon to bring a transfer facility her that would be very strategic for Amazon and would bring a ton of jobs and a huge tax influx… If so Carney would be lauded as a hero IMHO as this would be great for the city and Amazon has already been making use of that property for the last three years during the holidays.
