Frost Advisory issued for much of the area by National Weather Service
Yes you read correctly. It is almost May and the area is being issued a Frost Advisory.
The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a Frost Advisory, which is in effect from 1 AM to 7 AM EDT Monday.
* TEMPERATURES…Lows will drop into the lower to middle 30s by daybreak Monday.
* TIMING…1 AM to 7 AM Monday morning.
* IMPACTS…Frost could harm sensitive outdoor vegetation.
* LOCATION…Areas of frost are expected across portions of northern CT, northwest RI, and portions of eastern MA where the growing season has officially started.
The weather in western Massachusetts is expected to be just as cold, but their growing season hasn’t officially started yet.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
A Frost Advisory means that widespread frost is expected. Sensitive outdoor plants may be killed if left uncovered.
