The Attleboro Police Department is happy to report that Dorothy Lucas has been located in Braintree, Massachusetts.

73-year-old Dorothy Lucas had been reported missing by staff members of the assisted living facility in which she resides in Attleboro late Saturday night.

Lucas had left the facility in the company of 51-year-old Mark Chicoine of Attleboro. Chicoine had befriended Lucas while he was visiting another resident at the nursing home. Lucas had willingly left the facility with Chicoine, and there is no indication that she left the facility against her will.

A Silver Alert was put out on Dorothy Lucas on Sunday evening, and has subsequently been cancelled upon her being located.

Based on Lucas’ known medical conditions for which she requires medication, and the fact that investigators had learned that she withdrew a large sum of money from a bank in Attleboro shortly after leaving the facility, the Attleboro Police had concerns for her health and well-being. The possibility of her being financially exploited was also very concerning to the police. Chicoine’s involvement with Lucas’s having gone missing is actively being investigated. He is not charged with any crime at this time, and there is no immediate indication that he harmed Lucas. He is cooperating with investigators.

Lucas was transported by ambulance to a Braintree area hospital to receive treatment and medications required for her medical conditions.
