Friends and family dealing with sudden loss of 20-year-old with Fall River ties
Friends and family are coming to grips with the sudden and tragic loss of a 20-year-old woman with Fall River ties.
Cali McMullen died early this morning in a crash on Route 195 in Dartmouth.
While having a listed address in New Bedford by Massachusetts State Police, Cali had recently lived in Fall River and worked at Pub 99 as a server and at McGoverns Family Restaurant.
Friends and family have described her as a shining light with a smile and laugh that would light up a room. Someone who was funny, creative, kind, talented, and a beautiful soul.
One friend told Fall River Reporter that Cali was a very hardworking person who had recently graduated.
“She was fun. Spunky. Kindhearted. Just the type of person who could make a whole room laugh. She graduated a couple months ago from cosmetology school. She went to school every day and worked right after. She loved that little car, and she wouldn’t get rid of it. It had a few problems, and one was that her seat belt broke. I feel for her boyfriend and her family. They lost a great kid.”
Another person close to Cali reflected on the life of someone who she described as “like a second daughter.”
“Cali was such a great kid. Beautiful, intelligent, great sense of humor, heart of gold. She loved her family more than words, especially her niece and nephew. Cali was an amazing friend. She always made sure to let everyone know she loved and appreciated them. She always stood her ground and for what was right. Cali volunteered for ACS Relay 4 life. Cali played guitar and loved music. She wanted to become a rockstar. She loved exploring abandoned buildings and was very photogenic. A natural born model.”
Some were at a loss for words for a young life gone too soon.
The crash is still under investigation.
