Published

There will be one less spot to cool off when summer begins.

According to the Department of Conservation and Recreation, effective immediately through Tuesday, August 24, 2021, DCR will implement a closure of the Freetown State Forest Wading Pool in the Freetown State Forest in the Town of Freetown to accommodate reconstruction work.

The wading pool is currently closed for the season.

The wading pool will reopen following the completion of reconstruction work.

The closure will be clearly marked with signage.

While the work is being completed, there are expected to be several other options to cool off in the area as there was last year.
