Like playing a bunch of arcade games both retro and new? This may be right up your alley.

Free Play Bar Arcade, with locations in Providence and Worcester, is about to take over the former Pizzeria Uno’s at 904 County Street on Route 140 as its third location.

Free Play Bar Arcade is a 21 and over arcade with a full bar serving up bar pizza with Karaoke and live band/DJ entertainment on the weekends. Each Saturday and Sunday is typically family day where children of all ages are welcome from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., then they close for an hour to re-open at 5 p.m. for the over 21 crowd. They will be open 7 days a week. They will also host birthday parties during the Saturday and Sunday Family Days.

Where Free Play Bar Arcade is different is they collect a cover charge to enter the establishment and all video games are free inside (no coins!!). The cost to get in is $7 on weekdays and $12 on weekends depending on whether there is entertainment (if not then it may be cheaper).

The new Taunton location will have a total of 105 video games including retro games, pinball, Skee-Ball, dancing games and more. They plan an outdoor area to the right of the former Uno’s that will be enclosed for year-round use near where the entertainment will be performed.

According to the City of Taunton, games have started arriving, carpets are down, and the opening date is getting closer.

Co-owner Anthony Santurri spoke with OECD Director Jay Pateakos recently and confirmed that they have secured their building permit to build out the kitchen and things are finally moving along at a faster pace. He said they are aiming to open by the end of February with a big Grand Opening event likely the first week of March.

FPBA plan to reach out to Bristol-Plymouth and Taunton High Schools about planning special events for high school students as well. They will also be in touch with the City when they are ready to hire as they start at $18 an hour.
