Free community food market taking place in Fall River this week
A free food distribution for those in Fall River struggling during the COVID-19 pandemic is scheduled for Thursday.
The Full Plate Project Y Community Market will be taking place on March 5th and 19th in the parking lot of the Fall River YMCA at 199 North Main Street from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. or until the food runs out.
The Y will be offering the temporary market in a no contact drive-thru pick-up where everyone must practice social distancing by keeping 6 feet of separation between individuals.
Food items will be pre-packaged and CDC guidelines will be followed during the market.
Vehicle trunks must be accessible and have room.
Participants are asked to pull into the Pine Street entrance.
All recipients will receive food on a first come, first serve basis.
Be prepared to give the number of adults and children in your household along with your zip code. You are not required to be a Fall River resident.
If you have any questions regarding the market, call the YMCA at 508-675-7841 or e-mail Stephanie Mancini at smancini@ymcasc.org.
