Former Mayor and State Representative Robert Correia to be honored with boardwalk in Fall River

The boardwalk down at the waterfront in Fall River will have a new name.
The boardwalk at Heritage State Park in the city of Fall River will be designated and known as the Robert Correia Boardwalk.
Governor Charlie Baker signed the bill on Thursday.
Rep. Alan Silvia, Rep. Carole Fiola, Sen. Michael Rodrigues, Rep. Antonio Cabral, Rep. Patricia Haddad, Rep. Robert Koczera, Rep. Angelo Scaccia, Rep. Paul Schmid, Rep. James Miceli, Rep. David Vieira, Rep. Chris Walsh, Rep. William Straus, Rep. John Rogers, Rep. Elizabeth Poirier and Rep. James Dwyer all sponsored the bill.
Correia was a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives from 1977 to 2008. He also served as Fall River’s 41st mayor from January 2008 to January 2010.
