Former Massachusetts co-operator of daycare facing second count of child rape
A man has pleaded not guilty to various indecent sexual assault charges against a child, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
Earlier this month, 52-year-old Thomas Bleakney, of Scituate, pleaded not guilty to Aggravated Rape of a Child and multiple counts of Indecent Assault and Battery on a Child Under 14. Bleakney was ordered to pay $10,000 cash bail and adhere to conditions that he wear a GPS monitoring bracelet, he stay away and have no contact with the victim, and have no unsupervised contact with any person under the age of 16.
A mandated reporter contacted Scituate Police in January about the allegations against Bleakney, made by a victim. As a result, Scituate Police took out complaints charging that Bleakney indecently assaulted a victim, who was a child at the time. Bleakney voluntarily turned himself in to police, and was arraigned on the charges yesterday in Hingham District Court.
In August, 2021, Bleakney pleaded not guilty to a separate count of Rape of a Child, Use of Force in Brockton Superior Court. The indictment alleges that on or about 2004-2006, Bleakney raped the alleged victim, who was a child at the time.
From approximately 2000-2015, Bleakney co-operated the in-home, state licensed daycare, “The Kid’s Place,” in Scituate.
Bleakney is next scheduled to appear in court on April 7.
