Former long time convenience store and storage area becoming year round Fall River ice cream shop
A new ice cream shop is headed to Fall River.
270 Seabury Street, a long time convenience store that has recently been used for storage, will soon be serving ice cream.
The shop will be on the corner of Cherry Street and Seabury on the side of Ruggles Park.
Attorney Greg Brilhante, representing 270 Seabury Trust and Steve Serio, went in front of the Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals Thursday for a special permit to convert the property.
Brilhante stated that the inside of the building would be completely renovated. Daniel Aguiar of Sitec Engineering, who was also present at the meeting, said that no addition will be made to the structure, however, the roof, siding, and windows may be replaced.
The shop is expected to be open 365 days a year with hours of operation of Sunday through Thursday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday/Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
The business expects to hire 8 employees.
According to Serio, the location will be everything ice cream.
