Former Fall River woman out on bail arrested on new charges after police chase through multiple communities
A local woman, and former Fall River resident, has been arrested after a high-speed pursuit through multiple communities.
According to Rhode Island State Police, on Monday at 11:10 p.m., Troopers arrested 21-year-old Ciara Valentin of Woonsocket, Rhode Island for Driving Under the Influence of a Drug, Toluene, or Controlled Substance-1st Offense, Refusal to Submit to Chemical Test-1st Offense, Eluding a Law Enforcement Officer With a Motor Vehicle in a High Speed Pursuit-1st Offense, and Reckless Driving and Other Offenses Against Public Safety-1st Offense. She is also facing several traffic offenses.
The arrest was the result of a motor vehicle pursuit of a vehicle that failed to stop for the Smithfield Police Department and Johnston Police Department. The vehicle later crashed on Broadway at Greene Street in the City of Providence.
Valentin was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for evaluation and later transported to the State Police Headquarters where she was processed and held overnight as a Probation and Bail Violator due to previous charges out of Cranston including Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
Court records show that at three separate arraignments due to the incident taking place in multiple jurisdictions, Valentin was issued $100, $300, and $100 cash bail with a status for trial hearing scheduled for May 5th.
