Former Fall River Mayor Flanagan announces he will not be running in recall election
After much speculation, a former Fall River mayor announces he will not be running in the recall election on March 12th.
According to a statement on Facebook, Flanagan stated that he has decided not to run, but wanted to thank those who encouraged him to do so.
“I will not be a candidate in the March Mayoral Recall Election. I want to personally thank everyone who reached out to me these last several days. Your words of support and encouragement mean a lot to me. From the bottom of my heart thank you for your loyalty and commitment to campaign nonstop for our team!”
Flanagan, recalled by voters as mayor in 2014, is still popular in Fall River politics and is constantly a rumored candidate on social media. He has performed very well when polled online against current mayor Jasiel Correia.
