Forecast snow totals increase ahead of coldest temperatures of the season across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut
While it is not expected to be a massive storm, expected snow totals have increased for southern New England ahead of dangerously cold temperatures.
According to the National Weather Service, a period of snow very late Friday night through Saturday with the passage of an arctic front is increasingly likely.
Ocean enhancement and lingering snow showers are possible especially near the coast into Saturday night.
A few inches of snow accumulation are possible across much of southern New England.

An Extreme Cold Warning and Cold Weather Advisory has also been issued for Saturday night’s dangerous wind chills. For the interior, wind chills down to 30 below are possible. For eastern MA and RI, wind chills down to -20F are possible. Limit outdoor exposure in these conditions.
