Flags to be lowered to half-staff in Massachusetts in honor of Fall River serviceman who passed away
Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker has issued a half-staff order from sunrise until sunset at all state buildings on Friday, June 3, 2022, the day of interment, in honor of Massachusetts Army National Guard Sergeant First Class William “Bill” Burdick, of Fall River.
The 37-year-old Burdick passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022, at St. Luke’s Hospital.
Burdick was an Active-Duty serviceman with the U.S. Army and the Massachusetts National Guard. He served in Afghanistan in 2011 under Operation Enduring Freedom as well as in Kosovo in 2018 under Operation Joint Guardian.
Calling hours will take place in the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, 1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA on June 2, 2022 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place on June 3, 2022 at 9:00 AM at Rogers Funeral Home with Interment taking place in the MA National Cemetery, Bourne MA, with full military honors, on June 3, 2022 at 1:00 PM.
