First measurable snow of the season expected to hit area
With the Christmas shopping season in full swing today, the area is expected to get a dose of winter weather this weekend. The area’s first measurable snow fall is expected to hit the area and possibly into the work week according to the National Weather Service.
Snow is expected to begin as early as Sunday afternoon with periods of rain and mixing into Monday.

Snow likely, possibly mixed with rain before 4pm, then snow. High near 36. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Sunday Night
Rain, possibly mixed with snow, becoming all rain after 1am. Low around 31. Northeast wind 5 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
Monday
Rain before 2pm, then rain likely, possibly mixed with snow. High near 37. North wind around 11 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Monday Night
A chance of rain and snow before 10pm, then a chance of snow. Cloudy, with a low around 26. North wind around 10 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
