Fire severely damages Freetown home
Just after 8 p.m. on Friday, Freetown Fire personnel were on the scene of a structure fire
Just after 8 p.m. on Friday, Freetown Fire personnel were on the scene of a structure fire at 4 Dana Lee Drive in Assonet. The home was the site of a previous fire last month and has been under renovation.
Crews were committed to an interior attack and were able to bring the fire under control despite extreme fire and smoke conditions in the building. Apparatus assigned were Car 1, Engine 1, Engine 2, Engine 3, Ladder 2, Tanker 2, and Squad 1. The Berkley Fire Department responded to the scene with an additional tanker and Dartmouth Fire District 3 provided station coverage.
The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
