Fire and ice?

The National Weather Service has issued a fire risk and either a Frost Warning or a Frost Advisory depending on where you live.

The combination of gusty winds and very dry conditions may result in an elevated risk for fire spread by this afternoon.

Although less windy on Wednesday, it will be very dry, and will still see potential for enhanced fire growth.

Freeze Warnings have been issued for northern Connecticut, western and central Massachusetts, and northwest Rhode Island where temperatures are expected to fall below 32 degrees tonight.

Frost Advisories have been issued for much of eastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island (away from Narragansett Bay), where areas of frost are expected tonight.

The Frost Advisory and Frost Warning are both in effect from May 13, 02:00 AM EDT until May 13, 08:00 AM EDT

Bottom line – if you have plants outside that are sensitive to frost or freezing temperatures, take action to protect them tonight or bring them inside if possible!
