Fire destroys Portsmouth home Tuesday
The Portsmouth Fire Department battled heavy fire early Tuesday morning.
According to Portsmouth Police, this morning at approximately 12:15 a.m., Officers were dispatched to 29 Locust Avenue to assist Portsmouth Fire Department with a reported structure fire.
Upon the fire department’s arrival, they discovered the structure was heavily involved with fire.
Five occupants of the residence were home at the time of the blaze and they all made it out safely.
The Portsmouth Fire Department extinguished the fire and the State Fire Marshal arrived and later determined the fire appeared accidental. Officers cleared the scene at 3:30 a.m..
