Fence installation to take place in Fall River and Somerset at Veteran’s Memorial Bridge
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is announcing that it will be conducting daytime fence installation operations on the ramp from the Veteran’s Memorial Bridge to Route 79 in Fall River and Somerset. The work will begin on Monday, June 28, and is scheduled to take place daily, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The fence installation operations are anticipated to be completed in approximately four weeks.
The work will require that the right lane on Route 6 eastbound be closed to vehicular traffic weekdays from 5:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Standard traffic control will be utilized with police detail officers for various lane and shoulder closures on Route 6 westbound. A minimum of one open travel lane will be maintained at all times.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
