Fatal pedestrian crash in Fall River under investigation
According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, at 5:15 a.m., Friday, Massachusetts State Troopers and the Fall River Fire Department responded to a fatal pedestrian crash on Route 24 north in Fall River.
Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2020 Ford F250 pickup operated by a 44-year-old Fall River man struck an adult woman, who was determined to be deceased on scene. The victim’s identity is not being released at this time.
The facts and circumstances of the crash, including why the pedestrian was on the highway, are under investigation by the State Police-Dartmouth Barracks, State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, and State Police Detective Unit for Bristol County.
Route 24 north was closed for several hours to accommodate the rescue response and crash investigation. All lanes were reopened by 8:45 a.m.
