Discovery of BB gun, ghost gun in Fall River leads to 4 arrests

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, on November 14th, Vice, Gang and Intelligence Detectives were conducting surveillance, when they developed information that a 16-year-old juvenile was in the Maple Gardens Housing development with a firearm. Detectives responded to the area and located him accompanied by another 16-year-old juvenile male. After recognizing the detectives, the juveniles ran to a nearby vehicle which attempted to leave the area.

Detectives initiated a traffic stop, which lead to the discovery of a polymer 80 Ghost Gun and a BB gun. Three Juveniles and 20-year-old Angel Andres Martinez Malave were arrested as a result of the investigation.

Martinez Malave is charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, person under 21 in possession of alcohol, and conspiracy.

Juvenile 1: A 16-year-old male is charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, and conspiracy.

Juvenile 2: A 16-year-old male is charged with carrying a firearm without a license, disorderly conduct, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, assault and battery on a police officer, resisting arrest, minor in possession of a bb gun, disturbing the peace while armed, and conspiracy. He also had an outstanding arrest warrant.

Juvenile 3: A 17-year-old female is charged with carrying a firearm without a license to carry, carrying a loaded firearm without a license to carry, possession of a large capacity firearm, possession of self-defense spray by a youthful offender, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace while armed, resisting arrest, and conspiracy.

Pereira stated that as you can see from the photograph, the Polymer 80 Ghost Gun and the BB Gun bare a strong resemblance to one another.

“On a daily basis, our officers are tasked with making split-second decisions under these difficult circumstances.”
