Published

A family in Fall River is heartbroken tonight after losing a family pet and they want to warn others.

This afternoon a family on Pokross Street discovered that their pet cat Bella had been shot. The bullet was discovered in the cat’s spine which paralyzed the pet. Sadly, Bella had to be put down.

Mother Jade Barreto says her son found the cat shot and it has left the children devastated.

“I’m just so hurt. To raise a kitten to old age and have this happen. I am shocked. She had a lot of life left in her. She didn’t deserve this.”

It also may be happening to other cats and dogs.

If you have any details on this incident or others, contact Fall River police at (508) 676-8511.

Only cowards prey on the helpless and someone knows who did this so spread the word: There are laws against animal abuse and neglect in Massachusetts that carry a significant penalty.

    Godspeed dear Bella.
