In honor of a fallen Fall River Police Officer, his family is looking to spread a little “Christmas Magic” this holiday season.

This year along side of “I Am My Brothers Keeper”, The Magan family is starting a Christmas donation program to give back to local families in need. In Memory of Detective Richard Magan, they are beginning “Christmas Magic”. Magan’s daughter Jenna is looking to spread the Christmas spirit just like her father. “For any of you who knew our father, he was always “making magic” and helping those who may not have been able to see the magic of Christmas.”

The family will be choosing local families who are in need this holiday season via Facebook Messenger or e-mail at MagansChristmasMagic@gmail.com. All messages are confidential according to Magan.

“My brothers and I will be finding local Fall River families to give back to. We will have some donation boxes in local stores to help as many families as possible!” stated Jenna. “Any family that submits to us we will be sending their family a Christmas wish list.”

According to Fall River Police, Officer Richard G. Magan was killed in the line of duty on August 11, 2000. Detective Magan died from injuries sustained from a fall while he was responding to another officer’s call for help during the city’s annual waterfront festival, Fall River Celebrates America.
