Family known for Somerset Christmas light show announces how much food and money display raised

The Hill family, known for their holiday light displays, has released how much their hard work raised.

The Hills Spectacular Christmas Light Display has a fantastic light show every year in Somerset at 63 Patton Avenue with tens of thousands of lights and all kinds of extras.

People can get out and take pictures. There is also a mailbox for letters to Santa.

The Hill family spends all year thinking of ideas for the display and typically begin hanging lights in early October. Jay Hill stated that this year he spent almost 100 hours installing all the lights and wires for this year’s show.

Every year, the Hills pick at least one charity that they gather donations for as a way to give back. This year, they collected for two.

They once again collect non-perishable food items for The Veterans Association of Bristol County as well as monetary donations for The Maddox J. Almeida Foundation helping families dealing with pediatric cancer.

On Wednesday, the Hills posted how much they collected from the community.

“We are so excited to report that we received 343 pounds of canned goods for our veterans and $548.50 for The Maddox J. Almeida Foundation!! Thank you so much to all of you amazing people for making it such a successful season. We are so pleased to be able to give back to our community especially to Maddox’s family for their foundation that helps support families who have children with cancer and to all of our amazing Veterans! We look forward to next year!!!”
