Family announces services for murdered New Bedford man, remember him as veteran, loving father who loved sports

Ronald George Sinclair, 60 of New Bedford Massachusetts, suffered from a fatal gunshot wound on April 29th, 2024, at approximately 2:00PM where he later passed from his injuries surrounded by loved ones, family and friends on May 3rd, 2024, at 5:54PM.

Sinclair’s family gave Fall River Reporter insight into the man and his loved ones.

“Ronald fondly known as Ron, was born to Dolores Caroline Aprile Sinclair and George Ronald Sinclair, in Boston Massachusetts.

“He was an Altar Boy of the Catholic Church where he would often help the priest with tasks during Catholic services. Ron Was a former veteran of the United States National Guard where he served to protect his country. Ronald also was a childhood Boy Scout.

“Ronald is survived by his former partner of 30+ years Christine Marie Smith, mother of his two children Alyssa Marie Sinclair and Alyson Marie Sinclair. He Is also survived by his sister Joy Caroline Sinclair and her partner, Eric B Gorski, predeceased sister, Cynthia Pauline Sinclair who passed three years prior. Ronald is survived by two grandchildren, Aaliyah Serenity Santos and Emmanuel Elian Oquendo Junior along with his nephew Eric William Sinclair and his great nephew Dominic William Grigoreas. Ronald was preceded in death by his mother, Dolores Caroline Aprile Sinclair and by his father George Ronald Sinclair.

“Aside from him giving back to the world, Ronald was a passionate, loving father, a loyal partner, and an undeniable friend. His love for football and hockey were like no other, attending many Celtics games and cheering on the Boston Bruins in the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals. Ron was the life of the party and the light that lit up every room. From extravagant vacations every year to shopping sprees every weekend, his baby girls, were his entire world. His children gave him strength and laughter, joy and love. Ron’s artistic eye found beauty in everything around him and created beauty in his two children. He was so proud of his kids. Family and friends will hold him dear.”

Sinclair’s showing will be May 18 from 2 PM to 6 PM at South Coast Funeral Home, 1555 Pleasant Street Fall River, MA.

    I am deeply sorry for you loss. I cannot imagine how someone can be so heartless to do what they have done.
