Fall River’s Forever Paws Animal Shelter’s “Sadie” asks Santa for a “furever home”

“Dear Santa,

My name is Sadie, and I just celebrated my first birthday in the shelter system. I originally came from an abusive home and was taken in by a new family with the best intentions; however they were unable to keep up with my energy level and training.

You see, I am deaf, and this can be a little tricky when communicating with me. Please don’t let that turn you away from me, I am very sweet, a quick learner and with continued guidance I will continue to grow.

I am extremely fortunate to be able to spend my days at New England Dog Training where I can run and play with my friends for hours, but each day I watch them get picked up by their families. Their people are so happy to see them- they hug and kiss them at pick up and tell them how much they missed them. I can’t help but watch and wonder if I will ever know what that feels like.

Santa, in your travels leading up to Christmas Eve, can you please keep an eye out for my family? I know they are out there somewhere, waiting for me like I am waiting for them. Can you tell them that I don’t need much? People who love me, a lap for me to lay my head, and the time and patience to get to know me.

I know you are super busy, but I have been waiting for 13 weeks-94 days exactly, for a family to call my very own. This is my Christmas Wish-to have my forever home for the holidays.

Love,
Sadie.”
