Fall River’s Fiona knows quite a bit commands, is personable, intelligent and has all the wonderful qualities of a terrier
Meet Fall River Forever Paws Pet of the Week Fiona!
Fiona is a personable, intelligent girl with all the wonderful qualities a terrier has to offer! While she is high energy, she’s not the type to be bouncing off the walls at a moment’s notice. It comes out during playtime, where she’ll run, jump, and shake her plushies to death. Walks, too, will encourage the pep in her step! Once she’s gotten her exercise and has found her place in a bed or on a couch, she calms right down and is happy to lie beside her handler.
She knows quite a bit of commands – sit, down, stay, come, paw, other paw, roll over, and speak! This is just the tip of the iceberg for a smart girl like her, so Forever Paws encourages any potential adopters to keep her practiced with what she does know and help her learn some new ones! Recall would be a fantastic command for her to learn, especially belonging to a breed with a prey drive. She may want to chase squirrels and rabbits in your backyard, so getting her to come back at a moment’s notice would be nothing but helpful. She’s a bit of a heavy puller on the leash as well, so some training in that field will help relieve the strain on your shoulder.
Cats and dogs are both a bit selective for her. The dogs we tested her with were very high energy and she wasn’t the biggest fan of having something bouncing around in her face. Cats she backed away from when they began to show some aggression, though due to the breed, FP want to be cautious of her chasing after something skittish. Due to no history of her with children, they do ask that any children in the home be over twelve. Due to not showing any aggression during her evaluation they are willing to not be so strict with that rule, but any children would have to come for a meet. Ideally, they’d love for her to be in a home where she’ll be mentally and physically stimulated, able to be handled confidently, and most of all, loved.
