Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals gives go-ahead to cabinet manufacturer, seller

It appears that a woodworking company will be re-locating to the Scholarship City.

At Thursday’s Zoning Board of Appeals meeting, WR Construction & Design requested a variance for the manufacturing and warehousing of a wood workshop (cabinets) in a B-L (Local Business) Zoning District at 644 & 648 Rodman Street. The applicant also sought a special permit for the expansion of the structure.

The company is looking to consolidate their office space, showroom, and manufacturing from Rhode Island into one space in Fall River that will also contain warehouse space.

Ownership, Wilton Ribeiro and his wife, have resided in Fall River for some time which led them to the property.

The cabinet company sells to both contractors and the general public.

It was noted that the company will not be operating at night and should not cause disruption to the neighborhood.

The Fall River ZBA unanimously approved the variance and special permit but noted changes may have to be made pending a site plan review.
