Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals gives go-ahead for 14 resident unit project

Officials have given the go-ahead to a project that would bring over a dozen more residential units to Fall River.

At Thursday’s City of Fall River Zoning Board of Appeals meeting, Rodman Enterprises LLC sought a Variance to demolish the existing garages at 771 Rodman Street and construct four townhouse style apartment buildings, containing a total of 14 units: two four-unit buildings and two three-unit buildings. Waiving yard setback and lot coverage in an A-2 (Apartment) Zoning District.

According to Jeff Tolman of Northeast Engineers and Consultants representing Rodman Enterprises LLC, the proposal includes 30 parking spaces, 2 more than required.

The Board unanimously approved the proposal with a modification of a 1-foot setback on Salem Street.

No word on if there would be any tenant requirements or preferences.

    Fall River is shooting itself in the foot with new housing units. There is already way too much housing in the city.

    We need to constrict supply and as demand goes up get the deadbeats out of town.

      I guess you haven’t looked for an apartment lately. There’s a reason why rents are so high, lack of housing stock. So I’m wondering how did you come up with this opinion???

        He’s saying that he doesn’t care about high rents and wants to use the high rents and short supply to get the deadbeats out of the city. I don’t agree with the opinion, but he does understand supply and demand. “@trump loves the poorly educated”

      I thought you were going to say that more housing was going to make the city more expensive. But then I saw the second part of your comment and was relieved we have someone who understands supply and demand.

      But I prefer that we use new housing to make improve certain areas like downtown. Then the deadbeats can have there own areas in the city outside of the nice areas.

    Well these folks will have a beautiful view of the incinerator and an old mill and probably pay top dollar for it.
