Fall River YMCA closing temporarily due to COVID-19
The Fall River YMCA has been closed until further notice.
The location closed at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday.
According to a statement by President and CEO YMCA James Scherer, a positive test for COVID-19 has been revealed.
“An employee at our Fall River YMCA has tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution we are closing the Fall River Facility until further notice pending the completion of the required review by the City of Fall River Health Department.”
“The YMCA SOUTHCOAST Leadership Team is working closely with Health Department officials to ensure compliance with all required ‘post exposure’ health, safety, and sanitation protocols.”
“We remain committed to doing everything within our power to protect the health, safety and wellbeing of our community.
Thank you for your patience and flexibility during these challenging times.”
The timetable for the YMCA to reopen remains unclear.
