Fall River woman who was victim of car theft gets most of her property back, ashes still missing
A Fall River woman who had her car stolen, along with special items inside, received some mixed news on Friday.
Haley Desmarais had her car stolen this week with precious items inside that included her son’s ashes.
The family has told Fall River Reporter that the car was found near Maplewood Park and the vehicle doesn’t seem to have any damage. The children’s car seats were also found still in the vehicle. The most important item, her son’s ashes, were not found, however, according to Haley’s mother Joanne.
“The most important thing was gone and we can just pray at this point that possibly it will show up at a pawn shop. Who knows. It is terrible what people will take for a little money.”
Haley’s son Quincy passed away in April of 2018 at just 24 days old.
Joanne says that the family is very appreciative of all the support and help from the community.
“We all are so very grateful for everyone’s help. Without all of you, they most likely would have never gotten the car back. So keep praying because it works!”
If you have any details on the theft, contact Fall River Police.
