Fall River woman, two others arrested on several firearm charges after police seize gun

Three people are facing multiple charges after police say they seized a gun early Thursday morning.
According to police, at approximately 1:45 a.m., a Worcester Police officer was driving East on Chandler St towards Park Ave when he observed a white Honda going the wrong way on Irving St, which is a one-way street. The officer observed the operator, later identified as Jadah Putman, twenty-three-years-old of Fall River, switch from the driver’s seat to the back seat. He observed another individual switch to the front seat.
Additional officers arrived. There were three occupants of the vehicle, and they gave inconsistent stories about where they were sitting and why they moved. The officer observed an open container of alcohol in the vehicle, and located a firearm with an extended magazine inside a bag. None of the three occupants had a license to carry firearms. Ms. Putman, twenty-six-year-old Elvis Julian of Boston, and twenty-six-year-old Shamia Whitfield of Dorchester were placed under arrest.
They were all charged with Possession of a Large Capacity Firearm, Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, Carrying a Firearm, and Possession of an Open Container of Alcohol. In addition, Putman was charged with Operating with a Suspended License and Julian had an outstanding arrest warrant.
