Officials responded to an early morning crash of a car into water Thursday.
According to scanner transmissions, Norton Police and Fire responded to the area of 48 Bay Road just before 6:00 a.m. after a call came into dispatch for a car into Winnecunnet Pond near the Chateau Restaurant.
A 37-year-old woman was out of the car when responders arrived on scene.
Dispatch reported that the vehicle was approximately 6 feet into the water.
According to The Sun Chronicle, the female driver from Fall River lost control of her car and was later taken to Morton Hospital in Taunton as a precaution.
With a temperature of 28 degree outside, a firefighter went into the water and checked the vehicle for additional occupants and fluid leaks.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
