Fall River woman fighting to make her way back after serious injuries from Interstate 195 crash
A Fall River woman’s best friend is reaching out to the public to help her get through the most difficult time of her life.
Chloe Mota told Fall River Reporter that on April 16, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Mota, who was in the back seat, her friend 25-year-old Allison Knight who was in the front seat, and a male driver, were traveling on Interstate 195 in Swansea on their way home to Fall River when their vehicle smashed into the back of a car that was stopped on the highway with lights off. Mota says that she doesn’t even remember the crash herself and had to rely on the account from the driver.
Mota stated that Knight suffered a broken neck in the crash and was rushed to surgery for her spinal cord.
“She was intubated for a little over a week but was having difficulty with that, so they gave her another surgery for a tracheotomy to help her breathe. She is currently on breathing support but is fully aware and can mouth conversations but cannot speak. She is in the neurological critical care unit in Rhode Island Hospital with no date when she will be moved out. She will be there for a while and then moved to a rehab center for physical therapy to continue her recovery until she can go home.”
According to Mota, Knight has a long road to recovery which led her to create a GoFundMe fundraiser for Knight.
“She is the brightest person you will ever meet and not even this situation can bring her down. She doesn’t deserve this. She is the strongest person I know and will get through this. She is so young and such a good person.”

I’m so sorry for you, a young person to have to go through this. You didn’t deserve this, just a rider in someone’s car. I pray for you a speedy recovery and may God be with you while you heal from this accident, not of your fault.

I hope she recovers, but I’m here to address the morality of posting her photo like this. She didnt commit a crime and this inst a mugshot so have some damn decency and remove her face from your article. It was a car accident you could have posted photos of the/a crash and had the same effect without the cringeworthy photo of her in such a vulnerable state that she absolutely never gave you consent to post. I’m talking to you Ken Paiva you wrote the article and published it.

Quite frankly, I was wondering the same thing. Who granted The Reporter permission to post such personal patient photos? Very indiscriminate journalism, almost in a sense, , but still not quite, Voyeurism, I would say. What’s the purpose? Sensationalism?
The photo of the wreck would have more than sufficed. JIMHO

Stop crying cupcake. No one cares that you are throwing yourself on your white knight sword.
Like typical narcissists, you and Rose want to make the story about you guys. You two can’t stand that someone else is getting the attention.
WE HAVE PERMISSION, not that we need anyone’s permission.
We made the story with the GoFundMe link so that she funds are raised. Alone the GoFundMe would only reach a few hundred people. Because of this story and photo it’ll reach our audience of 80,000 people helping her with recovery.
What have you done to help raise funds for her besides making her story about you two Karens who don’t know what you’re talking about?
