Fall River, Tiverton Police arrest two Thursday on drug and weapon charges
As a result of an investigation by the Fall River Police Department and the Tiverton Police Department, two subjects were arrested. according to Tiverton Police.
Tyler Oliveira, 24, and Courtney Rebello, 28, both of 73 Fairfield Ave., Tiverton, were arrested on several drug related charges.
On Thursday, September 12, 2019 at approximately 4:45 PM, members of the Fall River Police Department’s Vice and Intelligence Unit conducted a motor vehicle stop on the 195 East exit onto Plymouth Ave. At that time officers executed a court-authorized search warrant of the vehicle. As a result of the search officers seized 475 blue glassine bags containing suspected Fentanyl and $1,450 in cash. Oliveira was taken into custody and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class A Controlled Substance (Subsequent Offense) and being a Fugitive from Justice.
A short time later members of the Tiverton Police Department executed a court-authorized search warrant of 73 Fairfield Ave., Tiverton. As a result of the search officers seized 1,000 blue glassine bags containing suspected Fentanyl, several containers of Methadone, two handguns and $10,000 in cash. Rebello was taken into custody and charged with Possession with Intent to Deliver a Schedule I-V Controlled Substance, Possession of a Schedule I-V Controlled Substance and Carrying/Possessing a Dangerous Weapon while Committing a Crime of Violence.
An arrest warrant was later issued for Oliveira charging him with Possession with Intent to Deliver Schedule I-V Controlled Substance and Carrying/Possessing a Dangerous Weapon while Committing a Crime of Violence.
Rebello was arraigned in Newport District Court and is currently being held without bail. Oliveira was arraigned in Fall River District Court and is being held without bail pending extradition to Rhode Island.
Detective Gary Barboza of the Fall River Police Department and Detective Joshua Pelletier of the Tiverton Police Department led the investigation.
