A violent incident over the weekend in Fall River has resulted in several charges for a local man.

According to police, on Sunday, at just before noon, Fall River Police responded to the SRTA Bus Terminal at 118 Fourth Street for reports of a stabbing and a man chasing another individual with a knife. It was later determined that the incident occurred at an address on Fifth Street.

Upon arrival, officers located a 45-year-old male suffering from multiple lacerations to his shoulder and head. Officers immediately provided medical aid until Fall River EMS arrived. The victim was subsequently transported to Rhode Island Hospital for further treatment.

Officers quickly located a man matching the description provided by dispatch on nearby Hartwell Street. The individual was identified as 56-year-old Kenneth Bell. During a pat frisk, officers recovered a folding utility knife from Bell’s pocket. Further investigation revealed that Bell had also taken belongings from the victim.

Bell was taken into custody and transported to the Fall River Police Department for booking and charged with Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Armed assault with Intent to Murder, Armed Robbery, Vandalizing Property, and Disturbing the Peace while Armed.

Court records show that at arraignment on Monday, Bell was held without bail on dangerousness with a detention hearing scheduled for Thursday.
